Oh Buggar

I've finally found a good RP over on Insanejournal. It's called Oh Buggar (I know, odd spelling), and it's a light-hearted time-warp thing. I just put in my application for Albus Severus (who I made a Hufflepuff, yay!) here. Tell me what you think, if you get a chance. I was so lucky to find a site with good PB bases. I actually found my ideal Albus (Louis Prades) in the first few entries! Shame I have to go to band camp in two days.

Here's my main picture for Al:

By the way, the game still needs a bunch of characters, especially Scorpius Malfoy (who I want to crush on). :)

Desperate to RP

Hello, all. I've been thinking about getting into roleplaying for a while, and I'm trying to get my feet wet. I was looking at the whole character journal thing, but that's a bit daunting for me currently. I was wondering if any of my wonderful friends would mind RPing on AIM and showing me the ropes, persay? I'd be open to Harry Potter, Avatar, even House or bandom. If anybody's bored and looking for something to do, I'm wide-open!

REPOST: Are any of you willing to help a girl out? -_- If you have a chance, hit me on AIM at babyclawjr. Thanks.

OhmygawdI'vebeenawayforsolongdearGod! I doubt if I'll ever post regularly, so just take what you can get. XP

I've just fallen in love with Avatar (which is the coolest cartoon ever). But why does it have to end right when I've fallen in love with it? *sobs* I think the series finale is in July, and I'm thoroughly spoiled. I watched all the episodes within the space of a week, I think, and they were all pretty awesome, though I don't ship anything yet. SHOCK! If any of you like Avatar, a bit of persuasion may be in order (hint hint, fics).

I've just gotten interested in RP, but I've never done it. I've been trying to steel myself up to join a board/comm/whatever, but as I said, I'm a total RP n00b and have no idea where to start. If anyone's willing to take me under their wing and show me around the basics, that'd be fantastic. :)

RANDOM DRABBLES!

I'm sorry I haven't posted for so long. I don't even have a super duper excuse; I'm just lazy. :P But that's why everybody loves me. XD

Anyway, I just found this awesome drabble generator, and I thought I'd share a few of my creations. You have no idea how many guts I busted consecutively when reading these.

The Panther Prince

Al was walking through a pythonesque meadow, laughing at the butterflies flitting around his head when he spied an impeccable little panther lying under a tree.

Al skipped over to see the dear thing and was spontaneous to find that he was hurt! A spoon had pierced his blond little calf and he whimpered improvisationally with the pain.

"My cheeky little friend," Al said. "Let me help you!" He took out his Leatherman Multi-Purpose tool and pulled out the spoon, as quaveringly as he could. The panther cried out and Al's heart ached, like a noodle that's been slurped one too many times.. "You'll be all right," Al whispered. "I'll take care of you. I'll call you Scorpius and you can live with me forever!"

Scooping Scorpius up in his arms, Al carried him home and made a bed for him beside his own. For seven days and seven nights, Al nursed Scorpius, cleaning his calf and feeding him Crueller-brand panther chow.

On the eighth night, Scorpius climbed into bed with Al. He burrowed under the covers and diagonally boogied Al's eye. It made Al giggle and he cuddled close to Scorpius, stroking his tongue and singing yearningly to him.

They continued that way for a long time. Every day, Al hurried home so he could curl up with Scorpius. It gave him a holy feeling whenever Scorpius boogied his eye.

Then one night, Scorpius looked up at Al and said, "If you kiss me, I will become a lost prince."

Al screamed belatedly, he was so surprised. How could a panther talk? He must have dropped off and dreamed it.

"You're not dreaming," Scorpius said. "Kiss me."

"Don't tell anyone I screamed like that," Al said and kissed Scorpius on his tongue. The air swirled and suddenly, there stood a lost prince! With a crown and everything!

"I'm Prince Scorpius," he said. "I was cursed. It's a long story."

"Is it really you?" Al said.

"See?" Scorpius said and showed Al the scar from the spoon on his calf. Then he kissed Al and they tumbled inside the cave and did a lot of very insane things, some of them involving a risque diadem.

"I love you," Scorpius said when they were done. Al clasped him close and they lived together happily ever after on all the prince treasure Scorpius had stashed away.

And if Scorpius didn't know about Al's visits to the panther sanctuary, well, it wouldn't hurt him.

To Dramatically Lick

To Dramatically Lick

Bill and Hillary were celebrating a strenuous Valentine's Day together. Bill had cooked a destructive dinner and they ate in a tree by candlelight.

"My darling," Hillary said, stroking Bill's uvula, "I have something for you." She gave a box to Bill. "It is but a worrying token of my indefinite love."

Bill opened the box. Inside was an adorkable crucifix! He gazed at it randomly. Then he gazed at Hillary randomly. "It's shameful," Bill said. "Come here and let me lick you."

Just then, a complete crone sprang out of hiding and cackled like a butterfly eating a crumpet. "Your happiness will not last!" she said in a detrimental voice and dropped a piece of paper onto the dinner table.

Hillary read it. "It's a page from a diary. It says...it says that you're my brother."

They stared at each other touchingly as the crone cackled some more. Bill's kneecap began to tremble. Then Hillary shrugged, pulled out a power, and hit the crone on her hair. She fell over dead.

The Short Terror Of The Snow

It snowed a foot overnight. When they woke up, Goyle and Crabbe went out to play. First, they made snow angels. Then they had a snowball fight and Goyle hit Crabbe in his toe with a big cruel iceball. It hurt a lot, but Goyle kissed it crisply and then it was all better.

Then they decided to make a snow man.

"We'll make a really happy snow man!" Goyle said.

"Why don't we make a snow woman instead?" Crabbe said. "That would be more brusque and politically correct."

"I know," Goyle said. "We can make a snow bat. That way, we don't have to worry about gender politics."

So they rolled the snow up drolly and made a hurt snow bat. Goyle put on a roof for the fingernail. The bat was almost as big as Crabbe.

"It looks musical," Goyle said laughingly. "But it seems like it's missing something."

"Here," Crabbe said and held up a damned broadsword. "I found this aboard a pine-cone." He put the broadsword onto the bat's head.

It was perfect. For about a minute. Then the bat, even though it was just made of snow, started to move and growl like a perverted executioner having one off behind the hangman's noose.

Crabbe screamed defiantly and ran but the snow bat chased him until he tripped over a tree root. Then the snow bat lurked him questioningly.

"Nobody does that to my little Christlike Leaf," Goyle screamed. He grabbed an icicle and stabbed the snow bat through the spine. It fell down and Goyle kicked it apart until it was just a bunch of snow again.

"You saved me!" Crabbe said and they shared an embrace in the snow before going in for hot chocolate.

The broadsword lay in the yard until a bright child picked it up and took it home.

"Problem solved!" Bill said and kissed Hillary antithetically. "This is an arousing Valentine's Day!"

They masochistically burned the diary page in the candle and never told another soul.

And then they cursed each other all night long.

I Need Ideas

I've been trying to write something for a while, but whenever I sit with an open document, or with a pen and paper, nothing happens. So, maybe some discussion would help this process. I've been thinking about writing a story based on Teddy getting bitten by a werewolf when he's 8, just like his dad, and how he deals with it through his life. Good idea? Any suggestions?

Five Questions from Seethingheathen

Five questions from seethingheathen. Why? Because I was bored.

1.) Your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Your mobile has no signal. Soon, a dodgy-looking car with a dodgy-looking man driving pulls over. He may be your only hope for rescue for hours, and he's offering to help you. Do you take the offered ride, or wait it out?

Wait it out. Or, more likely, ask the man for directions to the nearest gas station, or if I can borrow his cell phone.

2.) What is your favourite fruit?

Bananas. I hate most fruit, but bananas are okay. If I feel guilty about having not eating a piece of fruit in the last month (something which actually does happen), then I'll snatch one from my friend's cupboard, or buy a bushel (or whatever it's called) at the super market.

3.) Would you knowingly serve someone a food they were only mildly allergic to (they won't die if they eat it) because cooking something special would be an inconvenience?

No way. They'd know, and it would be all awkward and they'd be all covered in hives and giving me a bit of a glare, as I knew that they were allergic. If they couldn't have gluten, or something, I would toss them a banana or go to a restaurant.

4.) Would you sacrifice your life to save the world? And no, you don't get to only pretend-die. You have to stay dead.

The last part of this one cracked me up. If I didn't know it was coming, and it wasn't something like walking through acid (FUCK NO), then maybe. When I get behind a cause, sometimes, I can be selfless. I dunno. Depends, I guess.

5.) What is generally the first thing you think about when you wake up?

My shower, and whether or not it's going to be hot. My shower is the best part of the day--how pathetic is that? :(

New Term at Hogwarts_Elite

For nonmembers and the uninformed, hogwarts_elite is starting up its thirteenth term right now. They're accepting apps until the 20th, and I suggest those not involved get themselves involved immediately. Seriously, it's such a fun and active community, and though it nearly killed me to get the application done, it felt so great when I finally got sorted into Ravenclaw.

So, if you're looking for something to do, give h_e a try. I want to see some new friends in the Tower soon. ;)

PS--I'm still sick. And I hurt. :( I NEED YOUR PITY, NOW MORE THAN EVAH! ...Err, sorry, that's the cough medicine talking. :D

Percy Weasley

I am sick. Blegh. I just took my first sick day off from school in two years. 0_o I have a nasty cough, and my throat is on fire.

I just got stamped Percy Weasley over at stamped_hp. I'm starting to doubt my complete and total Ravenclawness--I'm starting to see more and more similarities between me and the lions. :O

Sorry for not posting lately; I am lazy, I admit. :P

SWEENEY TODD. THAT MOVIE JUST BLEW MY MIND. SERIOUSLY.

I can't even describe it; it's inherently awesome. There's so much blood, and angst, and singing, and OMGZ BURNING ALIVE!!!!!!!11 Burton created such an atmosphere in the movie, his casting choices totally reflected that. I loved every moment of this film. I command all of my loyal minions to go see it and have your mind subsequently blown.

And did you know Pettigrew is in the movie???? He is. *nods madly* He plays Alan Rickman AKA Snape AKA Judge Turpin's lackey (oh HAI there direct parallel to the sixth book!), and I love him. Aw hell, I love them all! *twirls madly and throws daisies across the room*

<lj-embed id="19" />

Imperio

Title: Imperio
Rating: PG-13
Summary: The invention of the Imperius Curse
AN: Written for Hogsmeade over at hogwarts_elite about a month ago.

Ioannes was in shock as he watched the small bird fly. He swished his wand side to side, entranced in his own achievement. He had done it. His body was shaking, causing the poor animal to dip and dive erratically. Ioannes collapsed onto the stool behind him, mentally releasing the brown bird from his magic's hold.

“Dear Christ,” he mumbled, uncaring of his subject's escape out the window. “I have done it.” The words slipped from his lips slowly, as if not comprehending their own meaning.

Ioannes stood, swaying, trying to gather his shattered reality on the floor. More than a decade's worth of research and work had gone into that sparrow's previous flight. Add to that 15 years of schooling all across the countries and five apprenticeships to some of the greatest wizards history would ever see. That moment was what his life had been leading up to. It was almost anticlimactic, now that he thought about it.

The tall man's dark eyes suddenly focused as he saw Fournier's child running to his door. A sparrow was one thing, but a human child? For this bewitchment to truly work, it needed to work on people. It was time for a new test.

“Monsieur Laskaris?” The boy knocked softly on his door, calling out his name. “Are you there?”

“Yes, Christophe, come in,” Ioannes spoke in perfect French, after quickly casting a Lingua Charm. Unfortunately, Ioannes had not been granted the same gift with language as he had been given with spellwork.

Christophe walked into the small cottage, wearing the shy smile only a four-year-old can have. “I am sorry to bother you, Monsieur Laskaris, but my father wanted to know how much bread you would need for next week.”

Reaching surreptitiously for his wand behind him, Ioannes tried to mask the glisten in his eyes. “Ah, Christophe, I will need to check my stores. Would you mind sitting down?” He gestured to a small stool.

“Oh, yes, Monsieur, thank you.” Christophe sat down, his blond curls bouncing with him. “It was a long walk from Father's shop.”

Circling behind the boy who was chomping on a half-eaten apple, Ioannes gripped his wand tightly. It was the moment of truth. “Imperio!” He shouted, twisting his hand in a simple system of curlicues.

Christophe's back went rigid, his hands freezing. Ioannes breath grew rapid, with a mad smile sprouting on his face. “Yes! Yes!” He ran back to face the boy.

The child's face was blank, his features trapped as they had been a moment before. But something was different. Cold fear had replaced the simple happiness in those light blue eyes. The boy was aware.

What should I have him do? Ioannes thought. A million suggestions ran though his head, some entirely inappropriate. He settled on having the boy do a back flip.

Suddenly, Christophe jumped backwards, his hands springing him back onto his feet. Ioannes laughed insanely. It seemed his spell could transcend physical limitations. But, he wondered, how far could these limitations be transcended?

Fly, he thought. Fly up to touch the ceiling, than come back down. Without a moment of hesitation, the boy's face scrunched together, his hands forming into tight fists. His body was straining to follow Ioannes' commands to fly, even though the muggle child hadn't a drop of magic in his body.

Ioannes chuckled, watching Christophe's face turn red, then purple. His actions was actually quite informative, although entertaining. The subject wouldn't stop trying to follow the master's commands, even if the command was impossible. It was entirely possible the subject would die in its efforts.

“Stop,” Ioannes spoke loudly, watching as the boy relaxed his stance. “Break all the legs off of the stool,” he said, not even trying to keep his growing excitement out of his voice.

Christophe knelt down, grabbing the stool in his small hands. He methodically snapped each leg off the chair, ignoring the splinters that were embedding themselves into his hands.

After his task was done, the child stood back up to face Ioannes, his hands dripping blood onto the floor.

The elder man removed the boy's splinters and healed his hands, trying to erase all evidence of his experimentation. “Finite Incantatem,” he murmured, finishing the spell.

Christophe regained consciousness, shaking his head. He slowly looked up at Ioannes, a look of horror across his face. “You are a witch,” he said, his eyes expanding. “Witch! Witch! Witch!” He started to run out of the cottage, though Ioannes grabbed his collar, choking him.

“Obliviate,” he said coldly, watching as Christophe's body went limp in his hands. “You came to ask me how much bread I would require for the next week, then left on your way home,” Ioannes explained, forming a new memory in place of the deleted one. “You were held up when you played with ants on the side of the road.” Ioannes started to shove the child out the door, then, as an afterthought, said, “I require two loaves for next week.”

The boy nodded mutely, then left on the path he had come in on. As he waved good-bye, thoughts of world domination floated lazily through Ioannes' head. He had so much work to do...

Perpetually (un)Punctual to the Party

Why am I always so late to the bandwagon?

I just got sucked into shoebox_project, three years after it was started. *facepalm* Seriously, though, it's so awesome. I'm in love with it. I've only gotten up to the beginning of seventh year, though, so I warn you, on pain of virtual death and disembowelment, DO NOT SPOIL ME.

Reading the series has helped give me a new perspective on the MWPP era (which means Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs, as I just found out). I'm starting to see Snape in a new light, the poor, miserable bastard. I don't think I'll ever be able to read a Snarry fic without flinching, now.

Like my icon? It's one of my favorite quotes. Besides the obvious--"I do believe in commas, I do, I do."

I found my grown up Albus Severus. XD Absolutely drool-inducing, isn't he? His name's Louis Prades, a model from France. It's funny; a while ago, someone posted a picture of their personal Harry. I loved it, but didn't save it. When I was searching for a model, I found the same exact picture they used, Heh, it's the same model. Still, I prefer him as Al.

allie_potter's version is much more adorkable than mine. I am in lurve with it.And if you're wondering where you know the kid from (his name's Liam Aiken, by the way), he was Klaus Baudelaire in A Series of Unfortunate Events.
I'm so happy. I finally mailed off several books to BookMoochers, I bought a box to send my RavenCookies in (and the deadline is tomorrow OMG!!!), and the EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE french horn that fell down when I bumped it does not need to be replaced. Only 10 bucks to get the dent out, and the guy had been needing to buy a new one anyway.

Thank you, Lord.

I've been toying around with several ideas for a fic, but nothing has really panned out yet. I can't really think of how to start them out. I know what I want to write, I'm just having a problem carrying it over to paper. Oh well.

Have a yak-tastic yule! (omfg brain,wtf?)

Some Days...

High school can be so annoying some times. I was in Civics class a few days ago, and some dick-head named Terry (who loves to mock me daily) through some rather interesting drawings into my hood. I didn't find them until much later, and it took me a while to figure out how they got in there.

I'm actually kind of amused; it seems ironic that they would throw pictures showing gay sex into my hood. If only they all knew my deep, dark alter-ego...But I digress.

I scanned the picture for your enLOLment. It is under a cut, though. I'm trying to preserve at least a modicum of decency on the Internet. So yeah, kinda NC-17. Just a warning.

Blegh. :P

Have you read my new drabble? Please do.

Verisimilitude:
1. The property of seeming true, of resembling reality; resemblance to reality, realism.
2. A statement which merely appears to be true

Plutocracy: A form of government where power is focused within the affluent plutonian class, with high social inequality and low social mobility.

Sorry for the vocabulary lesson, but those words have been bugging me all day. I even broke down and asked my English teacher (who had no clue).

I should be memorizing my music for the Christmas parade this weekend, but the internet is a welcome distraction. I'm going to freeze my metaphorical balls off. :P

I'm thinking about committing myself to this fic-writing thingy. It's based on picture prompts. This is the one I'm thinking of doing. Suggestions are welcome, slashy ideas are preferred.

Any cool icons/icon makers you can refer me to? I need some new ones (have you seen my Dobby one? It's my favorite).

/random progress report

Title:Welcome to the Family
Author: Sam Lynn
Rating: PG
Summary: Severus' induction ceremony
Disclaimer: So not mine.
Notes: This is a drabble written for snape100's prompt of "Family Gatherings."

Severus stepped out of the circle, shakily pulling down his mask. The Dark Lord stood ahead of him in an ornate chair, a twisted smirk on his face.

“Ah, Severus, at last you have decided to join our ranks,” he hissed. “Come closer, boy.”

Severus inched closer, his body betraying him. His whole being was twitching with badly-hidden fear. Cruel snickers escaped from under dark hoods.

“Show me your arm,” his Lord rasped.

Severus lifted his sleeve, presenting his arm, and tried to steel his nerves.

Voldemort lifted his wand to the boy's skin. “Welcome to the family,” he murmured.
